We are very pleased to announce that our female Barn Owl finally laid her first egg on Monday 6th May about 7pm.
We would now expect her to lay several more eggs, each approximately 2 days apart.
The female will incubate the eggs straight after laying them, which results in the first chick sometimes hatching up to 10 days before the last.
The eggs will be incubated for roughly 30 days, so we will expect this first egg to hatch around the 5th June.
- First egg laid: 6th May, Due to hatch 5th June
- Second egg laid: 9th May, Due to hatch 8th June
- Third egg laid: 12 May Due to hatch 11th June
