Mallard duckling
One of eight Mallard ducklings at Horsemoor Hide pond. This one was caught having a quick siesta!
Southern Marsh Orchid
These beautiful flowers are in their prime here at Heligan. Especially in our traditional hay meadow; Horsemoor field.
Common Blue Butterfly
Lots of these butterflies can be seen in Horsemoor field, like this Common Blue on Meadow Vetchling.
Male Linnet
Flocks of Linnet can be seen all over the Heligan estate. This one was found near Horsemoor Hide.
Pied Wagtail bathing
With the very dry weather we've been having lately, birds are making every opportunity to bathe.
Red-headed Cardinal Beetle
This Cardinal Beetle was busy collecting nectar from the few remaining Bluebells on Bottle Dump Hill.
Large Red Damselfly
On cooler days you can get very close to Dragonflies and Damselflies as they warm up in the sun.
Great Diving Beetle
One of the largest beetles in the UK, yet they are seldom seen as they spend a large amount of time in the water.
